After
having a series of a quite bad day, Last Saturday I cheered up myself by buying
a gift for myself. lol.. But somehow, that Saturday was my lucky day anyway.
After almost a week desperately searching for a key holder I lost, the key
holder was found in the morning of that day.

Well, that morning, it’s settled that I would buy a new cell phone to replace
my old siemens s35 which already accompanied me for more than 5 years (if I’m
not mistaken, it was given by my sister on May  2001). What I would buy is
something unexpected actually, SE W900
(also known as Sakura), An old fashioned phone which was released by sony
ericsson almost 2 years ago, and now hardly found.. and it’s very fat. Even
compared to SE P990
directly, I can see, this phone is thicker.

In the afternoon, my friend and I went to roxy searching for that phone. After
asking some stores and SE counter, we stopped at a store which seems giving a
good aura to visit lol.. So I asked about the phone I was looking for. The
owner said yes they had, the price is 3,6million (I tried to bargain but useless).
They asked me what color I’d like to buy and I said anything will do but I’d
prefer white. After waiting quite long time (they were having hard time looking
for available stock from other store I guess), they said there is a black one
but with no bonus of MSD. I said it’s ok, then I wait again.., at last they
said there’s no stock left, but there’s a package of white one bundled with MSD
with price’s 3,7million. It was the last stock they got, no other choice. Well,
at last, it’s a deal. I got the phone with price 3,73million (including the
screen protector).

SE at that time was having a promotion time, I got a chance to play a throwing ball
to get a stuff like a bag, wallet, pouch, t-shirt, etc. After trying my luck, I
got two choices: wallet or a small pouch for hand phone. Well, I think better
to get the pouch so I don’t need to buy by myself. So I took the pouch, but
unfortunately, my new phone is so big that it can’t even put in there.-_-a Oh
my… a ’slim’ guy with a fat phone.. ^^’

However, according to some people, I was lucky to get the white colored sakura
bundled with the 512MB MSD.

But
for now, I start thinking again, why I bought that phone? it has price the same
as the latest music phone of SE, and so big, so expensive with only common
features (nothing impressive anyway).. hmmm……. dunno…  lol..

Usually, whenever we register to certain services or install a software, there’s a term of agreement, or end user license agreement (EULA), or other similar thing that we have to give a tick as a sign of accepting the terms of service. But mostly, especially me, I’ll just agree without concerning the contents of the agreement, even don’t care if the content perhaps can cause trouble or might be ther’s a door prize in it lol..

I remember about 1 or 2 years ago, there’s a software having EULA saying it will give 1,000 USD for whoever read the EULA and sending email to the written email address within the EULA. And after four months and about 3000 downloads of the software, only one person wrote the email (can be read more in slashdot and here ).

For this week, at work, unexpectedly my job switched to a translator for term of service. It was me and a friend at the office were asked to translate a quite thick document of term of service from English to Indonesian, which in the end it will be translated to Japanese (surely for this one is not done by us lol). We encountered so many difficulties in translating such agreement with so many IT, law, and economic jargons, to find the similar words in Indonesian. However, doesn’t it require a kinda lawyer for writing term of service? -_-a

I suddenly remember the advice of my English teacher when I was still Senior High. When learning English, instead of using bilingual dictionary (English-Indonesian), it’s recommended to use English-English dictionary. But somehow, in my current situation, I think I really need English-Indonesian dictionary. There are many words, which are understandable, but I hardly found the similar word in Bahasa Indonesia. Dunno whether it’s because my vocabulary/understanding is very bad… >_< I just feel funny when reading my own translation. Even seems after translated into Indonesian, it’s harder to be understood. lol.. don’t care lah.. lol..

For yahoo instant messenger client, I prefer to use gaim rather than using native client of YM, or other multi instant messenger. With gaim, I’m still able to see the original emoticon theme of YM, and I don’t need to bother with advertisement that usually appears on the original instant client of YM. Other reason using gaim? Nothing.. I just like it.. lol.. ^^’

Several days ago, I downloaded the new version of gaim, which has changed its name to pidgin (ver 2 beta 7). There’s explaination of the name changes in the pidgin site. But seems during I write this blog, the site is still slashdotted. In short, somehow, there was a trademark lawsuit from AOL for the name of ‘GAIM’.

What I like with this new gaim is, there’s some improvement in the UI and seems more responsive, but I really miss the original emoticon. This new version no longer includes the original emoticon theme for each procotol such YM or MSN, but has its own emoticon theme. Actually, it’s quite cute, but I prefer to have the original theme. I hope later on there’s icon theme pack of YM for pidgin. Another cons is, there’s problem with displaying buddy’s avatar. Almost all of my friends’ avatar cannot be displayed, dunno why.

Recently, I’ve just read news from slashdot that the final version of Pidgin 2.0 has released (that’s why pidgin site got slashdot effect lol). But the difference between the latest beta 7 version is only some minor bug fixing, so I decided to download it just later on (may be tomorrow ^^’ ). But however, if there’s still problem for displaying buddies’ avatar in this final release, I think I’ll be back installing previous gaim (ver 2 beta 6).

btw, here can be found a quite detail review of Pidgin 2.0.0 (I haven’t read it anyway.. lol)

Mmm….. after these months… a lot of things happened.. mostly bad experiences… what are they? mo tau aja hohoho… but however, somehow, I understand this is a good thing to learn….  and.. akiramenai! ^o^/

After being ‘digusur’, on the end of March, I moved to Karet, the same boarding house with my sister and Iwan99. It’s much cheaper (Rp.450k/month), no air conditioner, smaller room, the bathroom is less comfortable, and this is a real boarding house with so many rooms.. >_<

At the end of March, at the same time I was going to move, my boss asked me to move to setia budi, not to karet. But I refused because I already had a deal in Karet. Besides, the rent fee is a lot more expensive (Rp.1,4million/month). Although my boss said he would give extra for paying the expensive boarding house, I think for now, better I stay in Karet. It costs too much only for shelter. I prefer having better internet connection rather having better room but lack of internet connection. lol…

What I dislike most is, I have to cross the street before taking ‘angkot’. Actually, there’s pedestrian crossing (zebra cross), but I don’t know why, seems all vehicles are blind of the crosswalk sign. Almost none of them are willing to slow their speed, even they accelerate more near the pedestrian crossing. This is very scary.. it always takes time for me to cross the street. Jakarta.. very unfriendly for pedestrians. Even the sidewalk are full of people selling things..

This picture was taken when I was still 3rd year of Junior High. It was sunny day, and time for me to have English Course. Right before I went out at that day, my sister helped me for taking picture of Dino and me. I’m feeling lucky for having this picture, because this is the only decent picture I have to remember Dino.

Today is the 10th years of Dino’s death, my dog –also my grandpa’s dog. From the story I heard, Dino was born a year before me, but the exact date is unknown. He was raised by my grandpa in  Kapuas, and known as quite bad dog. You have to put your hands off from him, otherwise he would bite you.

In 19xx (I forget the exact year, but it should be written on my old scratch book in Banjar ^^’), when I was still elementary student, at noon, my grandpa and grandma suddenly appear in front of my parent’s house, by Becak, wearing pajamas and some stuffs like TV, etc. and Dino. Unlike Dino I know before, this time, he looked so quiet, or maybe shocked? What happen?

There was a very big fire in Kapuas. Fortunately, many houses in Kapuas were built next to the river. My grandparents could escape by the river. At that time, I heard that they actually planned just to swim and left all the things burnt if there’s no boat. Luckily, there’s taxi boat so they could save some stuffs while so many other stuffs left burnt.

Because of the fire, there’s nothing left in the house of my grandparents but ashes. Since then, my grandparents moved to Surabaya, and Dino is leaved to us. It took a while for getting along with Dino. He loves my grandparents a lot. It can be seen from his behavior when there’s my grandpa or grandma. However, I think he changed a lot, and never be the same as before.

Dino was not treated well in my family. Maybe because we don’t really like him. Even there was a plan to get rid of him. We rarely played with him. Actually I like dog, but I was also rarely playing with him because he is unfriendly. Seems he really missed my grandparents a lot. Why I like dog? Because dog is loyal. It won’t betray as long as we take care the dog properly. It’s just too bad that the life time of a dog is short.. missing a dog is just like missing a very best friend. I start playing and knowing better of Dino when I was at junior high. As words saying, “Tak kenal maka tak sayang”, I began to like Dino more. When I was home from school, Dino would welcome me joyfully. When I was feeling bad, seemed he knew it better than me.

One of our neighbor also has name Dino. People call him as Pak. Dino. So, sometimes I feel both funny and uneasy when calling my dog loudly “Dinooooo…. makaannn…” or asking him to silence “Dinooo… diaaammmm….”, Just afraid if suddenly Pak Dino heard and thought that I made fun of him.

When I was senior high, Dino seemed having trouble with one of his leg. Once in a while, I saw him walking timidly with only three legs. And seemed many of his teeth were already falling down. Sometimes, he didn’t look as cheerful as usual. I realized he was quite old. Soon or later, I’d miss him. That thought scared me a lot. But it can’t be denied anyway. Idea of bringing him to vet wouldn’t be accepted by my parents as we’re not rich and I knew it would cost quite a lot. Besides, at that day, it’s quite difficult to find vet.

Then the day came. It was the March, 3th 1997. At that day, Dino didn’t want to eat anything. He only laid down and did nothing. All I could do just pet him. The next day, he passed away. We put his dead body on a box and just discard it. I’m so sorry for Dino.. Up till now, once in a while, when I was sleeping, I still having a dream of Dino..

Farewell my beloved Dog, sorry and thank you for everything.. where ever you are, wish you are much better for now.

This morning.. I got morning call… ^^’

"Candraaa….. Caann..", panggil tante kos dari luar kamar. Waktu itu aku masih setengah tidur, lihat jam, Oow.. sudah jam setengah 10 pagi wahahaha.. -_-a  Bingung juga.. ada apa dipanggil2..

Ternyata, ada good and bad news.. Good news is her son is getting married soon (but I don’t know when the exact date is). Bad news is for me.. one of the room in the kost-kostan is already prepared for her son, but seems her son will need one more room to store his wife’s stuffs. So.. my room is needed for that. By next month (April), I have to empty my room. Actually, there’s one empty room in the attic. But it’s much smaller and no air conditioner. Besides, the stairs quite scarry… ohohoho… The price is no more than a half of my current room. Maybe I’ll move to this room, but haven’t decided yet.

I actually really like my current room and the house. It is spacious (in my opinion), with quite big air conditioner, big cupboard, two desks, 1 bed. The boarding house has two bathroom, kitchen with four stoves, and really quiet. It’s because there’re only three persons including me. The landlords live in other house. We can bring any electronics equipment without any extra charge. Free mineral water, laundry with no limit, and overall, the house is really clean. Its monthly fee is Rp.650.000. I think, there won’t be any kost-kostan as comfortable as mine with such price. Besides, the landlords are very kind.

About a month and a half ago, I already looked for kost-kostan near my current office. But the monthly fee is out of question. No air conditioner, less facilities, not-so-comfortable room and house, strict rule (only families are allowed to enter the room, friends are only allowed to enter the living room of the boarding house) and it costs Rp.850.000/month.

Ternyata, digusur itu emang nggak enak. Sekarang aku jadi mengerti gimana rasanya orang-orang yang rumahnya tergusur oleh proyek pembangunan.. 

Thinking of other people losing their homes, I’m feeling very lucky I still have other good alternative where to live. But dunno, should I take the empty room in the attic? Or move out? hmm……

I was born exactly on the day when chinese people were celebrating new year, while my 1st biggest sister was born 14 days after chinese new year (15th day of new year, also known as cap-go-me). So, based on the chinese calendar, today is also my birthday.

Many people said, kids who were born on the day of new year will be bothersome for family. Some said it’s unlucky, but some also said it will bring a good luck for the kid. Which one is correct? I dunno… I feel neither lucky nor unlucky. Bothersome for family? I dunno… it might be.. but hope not. ^^

Hmm… that’s all… chinese new year reminds me the old days. When I was still kid, when my grandparents were still living in Kapuas before a big fire burnt almost half of Kapuas, on the day of chinese new year, our families and relatives were going there and gathering as a big families.

During this lunar new year, I have to go to work anyway. Got deadline at work.. >_<

End of year, husband of my mom’s sister died because of sudden heart attack.

Beginning of January, My Dad got sick (until now), and probably will need surgery by next month..

In the 3rd week of January, my b’day, nothing special.. just me getting older but still very immature. I still remember the woman near my neighborhood, when invited me to join MLM said, no girls will like me if I’m like now. Good advice, but it doesn’t have any relation with MLM idea.

End of January, when Faisal (my friend at work) and I went to sgpore, there’s a ticket problem at the airport.

Beginning of February, Flood in Jkt.. at that time, I’ve just returned to Jkt at night. On my way to go home (to kost2an), I was trapped near ITC Roxy with flood almost my thigh high, while I was carrying backpack containing laptop and travel bag containing clothes and a very thick document for my work.. and it was raining..

And the latest, Father(in law) of Budi and Anny died.. and Nukman has just died because of accident.. Gone to soon…

However.. thank God I’m still alive, and currently My Dad’s condition is quite good..
Maybe these are also reminder to appreciate God more, with what we currently have.

Hope next month everything will be better.

Hmm.. Another year passed by, but I feel that I’ve just graduated from high school yesterday mhahaha..

Time goes pretty fast, just before I realized what has happened during this year. I spent most of the time only for working, sleeping, watching anime and jdorama. I dunno if it’s just for killing time or what, but I still can’t figure out what I really want to do to live up my life.

A quite big event of this year that I remember clearly is the marriage of my sister, since it’s just happened two weeks ago and held in a unique way (I think). Actually, It’s really nice seeing families, friends, relatives start to build their own families. By the way, I’m really sorry for all of my friends (Nuning, Dewi, Firman, Eva, Ming, and everybody else..) for I couldn’t attend the wedding party of yours. However, I wish you all have a wonderful and lovely family.

Next month, I’ll be having new job, although I’m not sure whether I could handle this new job properly. Even I don’t know what kind of boss I’ll have since I’ve never met him directly. We only have contact each other by email, YM, and phone.

If I’m thinking of what had happened globally, I can feel how bad and selfish I am. While there are many people out there, suffered because of natural disaster, wars, having disease, etc.. struggling to survive, I’m just keep thinking of how boring this life is.

Almost a year ago, a grown up friend told me, there’s a chinese wisdom said, life in common is like having a cup of tea. There are time when we are taking a sweet tea, bitter tea, and tasteless tea. When we were still very young, we were nursed by our parents. What we need was provided by our parents. It’s like taking a sweet tea. Everything looked very nice and lovely. When we were getting older and having life as an adult, we start to feel that life is not as easy as before. We might have a hard time, it’s like tasting the bitterness of tea. And it’s when we were having gray hair and getting old, any tea seemed tasteless, because we were already exhausted of life. Well, I think, this is tragic but nice. A nice drama sometimes ended with the death of the main character anyway. Since life will always ended with death, what matter the most is about how we spend the time properly while we’re alive.

Bye2 2006… welcome 2007…  Happy New Year everybody… Wish we all will always live up our lives properly, just the way it should be, till the end.  ^o^/

This is actually an old news. But I’ve just read it from here. Hardly imagine if I got such incident. I think this is really funny but also quite scary experience.. lol..

In short, there was a guy accidentally flushed his ipod at restroom of airplane. Then the toilet couldn’t be flushed. Worried of something dangerous put in the toilet, the crew contacted the police. Although the guy already told the stewardess about the ipod incident that makes the toilet couldn’t be flushed, after landed, the airplane suddenly isolated and checked by police canine and bomb disposal units, and each passenger was also interrogated by the police. And as the guy was the one who owned the ipod, he got many questions and unfriendly treatment. Even his laptop was checked by the police officer.

I’m wondering what if it’s happened to Indonesian people, then found so many unlicensed software installed on the laptop.. lol..
